According to Lewis the central purpose of Christianity is to become a "little Christ," a process that involves accepting one's brokenness and sin, accepting God's forgiveness, and ultimately, being made new by God. Lewis believed that true faith is the conviction that remains even when moods change, and that God's love, not our own feelings, is the constant.
