Creative Sunday Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Music Director, Production Director, Programming & Communications Director, and Hospitality Team
Employment Status: Full-Time (Exempt)
Position Summary
The Creative Sunday Director provides leadership and vision for the overall Sunday morning worship and weekend experience at StoneBridge Church. This role oversees the creative, musical, technical, and environmental aspects of gathered worship—ensuring each element points people toward the beauty and glory of Christ. The director fosters a culture of engagement, authenticity, and volunteer development while aligning all creative efforts with the mission of being a bridge of grace for God’s glory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Worship Leadership and Vision
• Develop and communicate a biblical and theological vision for worship that reflects the Reformed faith and the church’s mission.
• Shape the flow and tone of weekly worship gatherings in collaboration with pastors and musicians.
• Curate creative expressions (music, visuals, readings, testimonies, etc.) that enhance congregational engagement and gospel-centered storytelling.
• Lead occasional worship gatherings, nights of prayer, or special services (Advent, Good Friday, Easter, Funerals, etc.).
2. Weekend Experience Oversight
• Oversee every aspect of the Sunday morning and weekend worship experience including music, production, communications, and hospitality.
• Lead the congregation in worship through song.
• Lead and direct the music ministry team.
• Partner with staff and volunteer teams to create an environment that is welcoming, spiritually formative, and visually compelling.
• Ensure consistency and alignment across all worship services and platforms.
3. Team Leadership and Volunteer Development
• Supervise and develop the Music Director, Production Director, Programming & Communications Director, and Hospitality Leads.
• Build a healthy volunteer culture that emphasizes discipleship, teamwork, and servant leadership.
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers in music, media, and hospitality ministries.
• Foster collaboration between creative and pastoral staff to ensure unity of vision and purpose.
4. Worship Environment and Space
• Provide vision and direction for the design and feel of the worship space, including stage design, lighting, signage, and seasonal aesthetics.
• Ensure that physical and digital spaces reflect beauty, hospitality, and theological intentionality.
• Manage budgets related to creative arts, communications, and hospitality environments.
5. Community Space
• Collaborate and support the Outreach Director in creatively utilizing our space for engagement.
• Create teams to cultivate creativity for community engagement utilizing the worship and campus space.
Qualifications
• Deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, with a heart for worship and gospel-centered ministry.
• Alignment with the Reformed theological convictions and values of the PCA.
• Proven experience in worship leadership, creative direction, or church production management.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and projects.
• Excellent communication and relational abilities, especially in developing and motivating volunteers.
• Familiarity with worship technology (sound, lighting, ProPresenter, livestreaming) and creative tools (graphic/video software).
