StoneBridge Church Community, located in Charlotte, NC, exists to Build Bridges of Grace for God’s Glory. This position will shepherd the pastors and staff of the church, cast vision, while serving in a collegial model with current StoneBridge pastors.

I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep (John 10:11). This servant leader would disciple and pour into the lives of the pastors, staff, and congregation of StoneBridge.

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction (Proverbs 29:18). The Shepherding Pastor would be responsible for leading the way in carrying out the current vision of StoneBridge and leading us prayerfully in how we as a church can carry out God’s will in the years ahead.

Though one may be overpowered two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). This pastor would work alongside the other pastors of StoneBridge as a team to serve and lead the congregation.

This position would report to the Session and work within the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). It is a salaried position with full benefits. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Shepherding Pastor Profile

This position, while working in harmony with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), has a firm grasp on the purpose, values, and focus of the church, and aligns key leadership teams and ministry areas with its mission. Works as one of the shepherds of the church, representing Jesus Christ to the church.

The Shepherding Pastor will serve StoneBridge Church Community as an Overseer and Teacher. He will lead the ministerial teams as they execute the Lord’s Vision for the body at StoneBridge.


1 Peter 5:2 -
Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;

  • Acts as the primary steward of the church’s vision as God moves our church forward.
  • Functions as a consensus builder of the Executive Leadership Team with emphasis on mentoring, coaching, equipping others for service.
  • Functions as the moderator of the Executive Leadership Team. He will ensure that the collegial model is in place and well supported.
  • Functions as the moderator of the Session.
  • Serves as a member of the Session’s Planning and Operations Commission.
  • Guides the Diaconate.
  • Oversees the pastoral interns.


2 Corinthians 9:12-14 -
For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.

  • Oversees the Supplication Stone, striving to develop and strengthen the prayer life of the people of StoneBridge.
    • Leads and organizes prayer and supplication for the Congregation, the Session, the ELT, and Staff.
    • Coordinates the pastoral care and shepherding for the Elders on Session.
  • Fervently prays and petitions on behalf of the Congregation, the Session, the ELT, and Staff.
  • Develops, leads, and executes a vision for growing StoneBridge into a church of prayer.


Hebrews 13:7 -
Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

  • Participate in the ministerial preaching team, preaching the gospel to the congregation as part of a pastoral rotation 6-8 times a year.
  • Teach the scriptures in large and small group settings as a part of the church’s ministry of edification and evangelism.
  • Responsible for Officer training.
